    I’ve read about this case over the years (although noting lately) and never felt he did it.

    But if not him, who and why?

    I agree it was not the husband. Perhaps it was the colleague he mentioned in his diaries

    His colleague Richard Gordon Parry may have attempted to burgle the safe in the Wallace home.
