    What is Gumshoe?

Gumshoe is a new platform where true crime fans can discuss a large variety of cases, and connect with other enthusiasts.

    Where is Gumshoe available?

Gumshoe is available on the iOS and Google Play stores (listed as Gumshoe: True Crime).

How much does it cost to use Gumshoe?

There is no cost to download. The platform is completely free.

    Do I need an account?

In order to actively participate in cases, and access our member directory, you will need to create an account. Only a valid email is required to register. We do not ask for first & last names, and only user’s nicknames are displayed.

    Can I create a case?

Cases can only be created by staff members or community managers. If there is a case you’d like added, please start a discussion thread here. Make sure you follow the “Please Read” sticky topic before requesting a case.

    Can I moderate a case?

Case moderators will be chosen by staff or community managers based on the user’s connection to the case, knowledge, activity, maturity, etc. If there is a personal connection to a case, please state so when you request it.

How do I become a Community Manager?

Staff will choose Community Managers as our platform grows, and will generally approach individuals who consistently contribute thoughtful and accurate information.

How do I unsubscribe from case push notifications?

By default, when you join a case you are automatically subscribed to any discussion threads/posts within that case. You can easily unsubscribe from notifications (while still being a member of the case) by either tapping the bell icon on the case page, or by navigating to your account -> notification settings -> case notifications.

What if I have feedback or need to report a bug?

For feedback and/or bug reports, you can start a discussion thread within the Gumshoe Group, or email it to hello@gumshoe.app. There are quick links to email within the app when you navigate to your settings.
